With my own wedding coming up it's hard NOT to pay attention to all of the wedding buzz surrounding the Royal wedding! Unless you've been living under a rock for the past month, you know that Prince Harry married an American, Meghan Markle, on May 19!
Aside from her stunning dress and the many fascinators, did you notice how amazing the ceremony music was? Here are a just a few of the highlights: Entrance of the Bride: Eternal source of light divine (Handel) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_EXB2IrD1T4 The phenomenal 19 year old cellist, Sheku Kanneh-Mason, played this program during the signing of the register: Paradis - Sicilienne Fauré - Après un rêve Schubert - Ave Maria Stand by Me (Leiber & Stoller): odd for a wedding, but wonderfully performed by Karen Gibson and The Kingdom Choir https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e35ttXQ5qu4 The classics: Rutter-The Lord Bless You and Keep You John Hughes / William Williams - Guide Me O, Thou Great Redeemer (Also featured in Prince William and Kate Middleton's wedding) Tallis-If Ye Love Me Fun Fact: I have performed the Tallis, Schubert, and the Rutter selections! I want to congratulate the happy couple on their marriage, but I also want to commend them for their impeccable taste in music! Way to go, Duke and Duchess of Sussex! Once I get married, I'll post my own ceremony music in the comments :)
